AUDL partners with TSN to deliver live coverage
The American Ultimate Disc League has finalized a partnership with Canada’s leading specialty network, TSN, to deliver live access to the league’s ESPN-produced “Game of the Week” telecasts in Canadian markets. The agreement includes the coverage of four games on TSN GO featuring each of the AUDL’s four Canadian franchises: the Montreal Royal, Ottawa Outlaws, Toronto Rush, and Vancouver Riptide, with the possibility of more games to be added in the future. With ESPN and now TSN, the AUDL has secured broadcast agreements with North America’s two largest sports networks.
“Our Canadian franchises and fans are some of the best in the AUDL,” league commissioner Steve Gordon said. “This move ensures an unprecedented level of access to games featuring the sport’s best athletes.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with TSN GO to deliver nationwide coverage of our Canadian teams for the 2015 season.”
The agreement with TSN allows the AUDL to expand its broadcast coverage to include Canada’s vibrant ultimate fanbase. Whether it’s the on-field excellence of the 2013 AUDL champion Rush, the acrobatics of the Riptide, or the raucous, record-setting crowds of Montreal, Canadian ultimate has long been emblematic of the league’s core values of quality, community, and accessibility. Each of the four communities boast some of the largest recreational leagues in the world, with Ottawa hosting in excess of 250 teams.
TSN’s AUDL broadcast schedule includes the following:
- April 18 – Vancouver Riptide @ Seattle Cascades at 10:30 p.m. ET on TSN GO
- April 25 – Toronto Rush @ Ottawa Outlaws at 5 p.m. ET on TSN GO
- May 9 – New York Empire @ Toronto Rush at 7 p.m. ET on TSN GO
- June 27 – Ottawa Outlaws @ Montreal Royal at 7 p.m. ET on TSN GO
