Riptide and Furious George Partner for the 2015 AUDL Season

The Vancouver Riptide of the AUDL and Furious George, an elite-level men’s ultimate club team, has come to a development agreement for the 2015 season. The agreement will see a number of Furious George’s top players join the Riptide to gain valuable practice time and game play in an extremely competitive AUDL Western Conference.

The AUDL Western Conference has expanded to include 7 teams this season with expansion franchise in Los Angeles and San Diego ready to start play in April 2015.

“The AUDL Western Conference will provide players with the best opportunity to play with and against the top Ultimate talent in North America. Every team is actively pursuing opportunities to bolster their roster for this season and partnering with Furious immediately improves our team” explained Jim Lloyd, Managing Partner for the ownership group from L2 Sports Management.

Furious took great care in making their decision to endorse the Riptide as a development vehicle for the club. “We gave this decision the full treatment,” the Furious Captains commented. “The Ultimate scene and the options available – especially for Canadian teams – have grown more varied and complicated in recent years, and we are now in a position where we have to choose carefully how we spend our time.”

“For 2015, we took great pains to examine Furious’ vision, our goals, and the risks thereto. On the whole, the club felt that a stake in the AUDL Western Conference offered a strategically valuable environment for our needs, and we look forward to joining the Riptide in the coming year.”

Fans can expect to see a number of key player signing in coming weeks as we launch our season ticket campaign in the very near future.
